Programme
Scientific programme
The structure of the scientific programme will follow the traditions of the ESCoP conference. There will be keynote lectures, invited symposia, submitted symposia, thematic talk sessions and poster sessions. Throughout the scientific programme, we will strive for gender balance among speakers.
Keynote lectures: There will be 4 keynote lectures (to be defined).
Invited symposia: symposia will be 90-minute long, and include typically 4-5 talks. Gender balance must be taken into account in the definition of symposium speakers. The invited symposia will focus on different areas in cognitive psychology, as ensured by the diverse backgrounds of the organising team. Topics that are considered of particular interest for the development of the discipline as a whole (e.g., open science) will be particularly encouraged. Potential chairs of invited symposia will be asked to propose a group of speakers and the topics they will cover. The final decision on whether the symposium will be included in the programme will be made by the scientific committee.
Submitted symposia: The scientific committee will also consider symposium proposals from the attendees. Such proposals should include a general abstract, a list of participants, and individual abstracts for each of the proposed talks. The scientific committee will make the decision to include or reject the proposal.
Thematic talk sessions: Proposals for individual oral presentations, submitted by the attendees, will be evaluated based on their quality and the selected ones will be organised in thematically-consistent sessions. The Programme Committee will select talks depending on their quality and categorise them into thematic groups. In case the number of submissions exceeds available slots in the program, a number of participants could be asked to present their work in a poster format.
Poster sessions: Proposals for poster presentations will be selected based on their quality and organised in thematic sessions. We are planning 3 poster sessions with 80-120 posters per session. The scheduled time for each of these is 90 minutes. However, poster will be hanged in the morning, so that they will remain available to the interested attendees for the whole day. In particular, we are planning to have lunch stations close to the poster area, so that they can be easily discussed during the lunch break.
Meeting Schedule: Following the format of previous ESCoP events, we are planning to open the meeting with a keynote lecture on Monday evening and to close it with a welcome reception. A banquet will be held on Wednesday evening. In addition, a full day special event is planned for Friday with two fantastic options available (see the special event section for details).
